Bio-XCell is a custom-built biotechnology park and ecosystem in
Iskandar Malaysia. The site benefits from its location in the
heart of Asia’s booming biotech hub. Key focus areas are
industrial and health care biotechnology manufacturing and R&D.
Bio-XCell comprises the development of a supportive
biotechnology ecosystem around strategic anchor tenants. Its
mission is to expedite the growth of the biotechnology industry
in Malaysia. The project is being jointly developed by Malaysian
Biotechnology Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (BiotechCorp) and UEM Land
Holdings Bhd.
Incorporated on 30th October 2009, Bio-XCell was globally
launched in Chicago, USA on May 4th 2010 by Malaysia’s Minister
of Science, Technology and Innovation, Y.B. Datuk Seri Dr.
Maximus Johnity Ongkili in conjunction with BioChicago 2010.
Bio-XCell is expected to welcome its first tenants in 2012.
